What affects the cost of laser hair removal?
Two quotes for laser hair removal can look very different. These are the things that change the price, and what to ask about.

Short answer: Cost depends on the size of the area, how many sessions you need, your hair and skin, the laser used, and what the price includes.
If you have asked a few clinics for a quote, you will have noticed the prices do not match. That is normal. Here are the main things that change what laser hair removal costs.
The size and number of areas
The bigger the area, the longer the treatment and the more it costs. A small area such as the upper lip costs less than a large area such as the legs. Treating several areas costs more overall, although combining areas in one plan can bring the cost per area down.
The number of sessions
Laser hair removal is a course, not a single treatment. If you have never had laser before, six to eight sessions are typically advised. A clinic that quotes per session and one that quotes per course are not directly comparable until you work out the full cost.
Your hair and skin
Hair colour, thickness and skin type all affect how treatment is planned, and how many sessions are likely to be needed. We assess these at your free consultation and tailor the course to you.
The laser and the person using it
Not all devices are the same. We use a medical-grade laser, rather than the less effective IPL offered by many, and our laser uses dual wavelengths, so it can safely treat lighter and darker skin types. The person using it matters too: your sessions are with our senior technician, who holds the Laser Core of Knowledge and an NVQ Level 4 in Laser & Light treatments.
What is included
Some clinics charge extra for the consultation or the patch test. At Whistles Laser Clinic the consultation is free, and a patch test is part of your plan.
