Laser hair removal for men: areas, prices and what to expect
We treat men and women. Here are the areas men ask about most, what they cost with us, and what to expect from a course.

Short answer: Yes, we treat both men and women. Back, chest, neckline and beard-area hair are priced by area size, from £42 a session for small areas to £120 for large ones.
Laser hair removal is not only for women. At Whistles Laser Clinic, Mel treats both men and women, and the treatment works in the same way for everyone: a course of sessions tailored to your hair and skin.
Areas men ask about most
- Back and shoulders: hard to reach and hard to keep tidy with a razor.
- Chest and abdomen: for a smoother, lower-maintenance finish.
- Neck and neckline: to keep the edges of a beard or hairline neat, or to stop shaving irritation.
- Cheeks, jaw and chin: to define a beard line or reduce how much you shave.
- Arms and legs: for sport, or simply for comfort.
What it costs
We price by the size of the area. In our price list, upper or lower back, chest, abdomen and full arms are large areas, and neck and shoulders are medium areas. Cheeks, chin, jaw and sideburns are small areas.
- Small area: £42 a session, or £170 for a course of six.
- Medium area: £72 a session, or £335 for a course of six.
- Large area: £120 a session, or £575 for a course of six.
Any two areas of the same size are cheaper together, and larger areas can be combined into a bespoke course. For more areas, we also offer a full body course at £1,499 and a top to toe course at £1,799, both for six sessions. See the full price list.
Razor bumps and ingrown hairs
Shaving often causes ingrown hairs and irritation on the neck and cheeks. Laser hair removal can help those with quicker than normal growth, ingrown hairs and folliculitis. Our post on ingrown hairs explains more.
How a course works
If you have never had laser before, six to eight sessions are typically advised, followed by a maintenance top-up once or twice a year. Men's hair can be thicker and grow in more areas, so the plan is built around you. Your first visit is a free consultation, where we assess your skin and hair, and a patch test is mandatory before treatment.
Before you come
Shave the area as advised, avoid the sun and sunbeds, and do not wax, pluck or epilate between sessions. Tell us about any medication, tattoos or skin conditions.
Is it for you?
If you are tired of shaving, irritation or hard-to-reach hair, come in for a free consultation. We will tell you honestly what to expect, and what the whole course will cost.
